Project Description

Eco-friendly ventilation in Malmö’s new landmark

When the entire Malmö Live complex was finished in 2015, the city could take pride in a completely new area where people live, work and meet – framed by an ultra-modern concert venue, conference facility and hotel. The complex as a whole covers approximately 90,000 m2, and the objective is to achieve the highest level of environmental certification under the international environmental system LEED. Ventilation naturally plays an important role in this work.

Flexible collaboration is the key to complicated projects

Thus far, Östberg has supplied ventilation units for the office section of Malmö Live. Taking into account the other sections, Malmö Live represents a complicated project for client and contractors alike, and it is essential that all subcontractors deliver on all their undertakings. Percy Ortega, Project Manager at Caverion, has nothing but praise for the working relationship with Östberg.

“Everything felt absolutely right from the very first meeting. Östberg has been attentive and proactive throughout the project, and despite the complicated logistics has succeeded in delivering the units to Malmö Live without any problems whatsoever.”

Specially adapted modular unit solution

Östberg has extensive experience in designing and manufacturing large modular units. The ventilation system for the office section of Malmö Live consists of two large units and one small supply air unit.
